Smith Advances at NCAA Tennis

Senior Jennifer Smith advanced to the second round of the NCAA Division III women's tennis championships in St. Peter, Minn. Monday before being eliminated.

She opened with a three-set victory over the tournament's eighth-seeded player, Mary Missbach of the University of the South, Tenn., 7-5, 4-6, 6-4.

In the second round she was defeated by Karen Lui of the University of Chicago, 6-3, 7-5.

Smith concludes her collegiate career as Hope's second winningest singles player with a 78-20 record. She was 20-7 this season.
