Visiting Writers Read Sept. 26

The Hope College Visiting Writers Series begins its 2001-02 season writer Linda Scott DeRosier on Wednesday, Sept. 26, at 7 p.m. in the Knickerbocker Theatre.

Ms. DeRosier was scheduled to be joined by Clyde Edgerton, but his participation has been cancelled because of an illness in his family.

Joining Ms. DeRosier will be Hope College English professors Susan Atefat Peckham and Joel Peckham.

The Series' organizers are working with Edgerton to find another time to visit campus for a reading.

Music by the Hope College Jazz Ensemble will precede the reading at 6:30 p.m. The public is invited, and admission is free.

DeRosier describes her childhood spent in the hills of Kentucky in her book, "Creeker: A Woman's Journey." A psychologist, DeRosier teaches at Rocky Mountain College in Billings, Mont.

The Knickerbocker Theatre is located in downtown Holland at 86 E. 8th St.
