Jazz Chamber Ensemble I Live on Radio March 5

The Hope College "Jazz Chamber Ensemble I" will perform live on Blue Lake Public Radio on Wednesday, March 5, from 10 p.m. to 11 p.m.

The performance can be heard on WBLU-FM (88.9) in Grand Rapids, and on WBLV-FM (90.3) in the Muskegon area.

The group was invited to make the appearance following its performance during a "New Jazz Talent Night" at Cafe Leonardo in East Grand Rapids in January. The January event, hosted by Blue Lake Public Radio's Lazaro Vega, featured the top jazz performing ensembles from Hope, Aquinas College, Calvin College and Grand Valley State University.

The "Jazz Chamber Ensemble I" is coached by Dr. Brian Coyle, associate professor of music. The group features sophomore Kathy Ewing of Dearborn, piano; junior Mike Kopchick of Grand Rapids, drums; sophomore Glenn Lester of St. Joseph, bass; junior Rich Van Voorst of Holland, saxophone; and junior Paul Wesselink of Grand Rapids, trombone.
