Choir Concert to Include Students and Alumni

The Hope College Chapel Choir will present a Homecoming concert featuring past and present members of the choir on Sunday, Oct. 15, at 3 p.m. in Dimnent Memorial Chapel.

The public is invited. Admission is free.

Retired faculty member Roger Rietberg will be conducting some of the pieces, and the rest will be led by current Chapel Choir conductor Brad Richmond.

In addition, two student organists will be accompanying the choir and performing solo pieces.

Works for the performance were mainly selected from alumni requests, and include Benjamin Britten's "Jubilate Deo," Herbert Howell's "Like as the Hart," Randall Thompson's "Alleluia," John Rutter's "The Lord is my Shepherd," Paul Tschesnokoff's "O Lord God," and several other works.

The Chapel Choir is Hope's premier choral ensemble. Made up of 44 auditioned choristers, the Chapel Choir has toured extensively throughout the U.S.A. and Canada, and has traveled to Europe on six occasions. In addition to being featured in the college's annual Christmas Vespers program, which is broadcast throughout the United States on PBS television and on radio, the choir has sung at The National Cathedral in Washington, D.C., the Crystal Cathedral in Garden Grove, Calif., and Radio City Music Hall in New York City, as well as at numerous choral conferences.

Dimnent Memorial Chapel is located on College Avenue at 12th Street.
