Hope Sacred Dance to Present Advent Service

Hope College Sacred Dance will be leading an Advent service at Pillar Church on Sunday, Dec. 9, at 6 p.m.

This service is student-led and organized and the participants are members of Hope College's Sacred Dance group.

Members of Sacred Dance have prepared the movement that will be incorporated into the hymns and readings in the evening service, which will include a special focus on the expectant joy that Mary spoke about in her Magnificat. Dancers will highlight the joy of Advent in a piece titled "Trees of the Field" as well as celebrate traditional Advent songs such as "Savior of the Nations, Come."

Pastor Chris DeVos will give a meditation with the service. There will also be a children's sermon given by the sacred dancers.

Pillar Church is located facing Ninth Street at College Avenue.
