Public Recognition of Flying Dutch is Planned

A month ago the Hope College women's basketball team competed for a national championship in Bloomington, Ill.

The Flying Dutch advanced to the title game playing before a large contingent of Hope fans before bowing to Washington, Mo.

On Thursday, April 22, there will be a public recognition of the team's accomplishments beginning at 7 p.m. at the DeVos Fieldhouse. Admission will be free.

Highlights of the event will include the showing of a video highlighting the season's accomplishments. A special commemorative poster will be distributed with players avaiklable to sign autographs. Hope's mascot, Dutch, will be available along with the NCAA trophy for picture-takers.

The event will conclude with the raising of a banner commemorating the 2009-10 season.
