Gallery to Feature Exhibition of Vases Designed for Tulips

The gallery of the De Pree Art Center at Hope College will feature "Tulipier," a celebration of vessels designed for tulips, with works created by Hope art students, on Monday-Saturday, May 9-14.

The exhibition will open with a reception on Monday, May 9, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The public is invited to both the reception and the exhibition.  Admission is free.

The vases are designed to hold fresh flowers, each creating a unique bouquet arrangement.  The exhibition will feature more than 50 vases, created in a variety of styles during the spring semester by students in the Ceramics 2 class taught by Lindsay Montgomery, visiting assistant professor of art. Although the exhibition developed with tulips in mind, the vases can work with a variety of flowers.

The majority of the vases will be for sale, with prices ranging from $40 to $500.

The De Pree Art Center is located at 160 E. 12th St., on Columbia Avenue at 12th Street. Following the Monday-evening reception, the gallery will be open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m., including during the Tulip Time parades. The gallery is handicapped accessible.
