Hope College Theatre to Present “Marion Bridge” Oct. 14-15 and 19-22

Hope College Theatre will present "Marion Bridge" by Daniel MacIvor on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 14-15, and Wednesday-Saturday, Oct. 19-22, at 8 p.m. in the DeWitt Center studio theatre. 

"'Marion Bridge' is a play about the familial relationships between three adult sisters as they return to their childhood home to care for their dying mother," said Daina Robins, who is the production's director and a professor of theatre at Hope. "It is a funny, tender, and moving story of three siblings reconnecting and re-assessing their lives." 

The cast of "Marion Bridge" includes sophomore Caprianna Parrish of Edon, Ohio; senior Madison Tustin of Plainwell; and senior Kara Williams of Saline. 

Stage manager is junior MacKenzie Anderson of Bay City, and assistant stage manager is freshman Charlyn Pelter of Schereville, Ind. 

Richard L. Smith of the theatre faculty is working on scenic design, and Smith and Anderson are working together on properties design.  Perry Landes of the theatre faculty is working on lighting and sound design.  Staff member Paul K. Anderson is providing technical direction. 

Elizabeth Jasperse is the guest costume designer. She received her M.F.A in costume design from University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. 

Tickets for "Marion Bridge" are $10 for regular admission, $7 for senior citizens and Hope faculty and staff, and $5 for students, and are available at the ticket office in the main lobby of the DeVos Fieldhouse.  The ticket office is open weekdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and may be called at (616) 395-7890.  On performance dates the ticket office will be open in the DeWitt lobby at 7 p.m. and through intermission. 

The DeVos Fieldhouse is located at 222 Fairbanks Ave., between Ninth and 11th streets. The studio theatre is on the lower level of the DeWittCenter, which is located at 141 E. 12th St., on Columbia Avenue at 12th Street.
