Colloquium: Theology, Science, and Music

Dr. Bennett Zon, professor of music at Durham University, U.K., will speak on the topic of "Theology, Science, and Music: Representations of Music in Intelligent Design and Evolution during Darwin's Time." Dr. Zon specializes in the music and culture of 19th-century Britain, and has published on such topics as the 19th-century revival of Gregorian chant, and representations of non-Western music and culture in Victorian England. He is founder and editor of the journal Nineteenth-Century Music Review, and a leader in the Network for Music Theology.
