Hope College students will present a vocal jazz concert on Tuesday, Nov. 13, at 7:30 p.m. in Wichers Auditorium of Nykerk Hall of Music.
The public is invited. Admission is free.
The student will perform: “It Had To Be You,” by Isham Jones and Gus Kahn; “Sway,” by Pablo Beltran Ruiz and Norman Gimbel; “Body and Soul,” by Edward Heyman, Robert Sour, Frank Eyton and Johnny Green; “Night and Day,” by Cole Porter; “You Make Me Feel So Young,” by Mark Gordon and Josef Myron; “Georgia on my Mind,” by Hoagy Carmichael; “Our Love is Here to Stay,” by George and Ira Gershwin; “Don’t Get Around Much Anymore,” by Duke Ellington; “Round Midnight,” by Thelonious Monk; and “I’ve Got You Under my Skin,” by Cole Porter.
The students are directed by Edye Hyde. Hyde, an instructor of vocal jazz at Hope, has been teaching and performing jazz, blues and pop music for more than 20 years in West Michigan, Los Angeles and Asia.
Nykerk Hall of Music is located in the central Hope campus at the former 127 E. 12th Street between College and Columbia avenues.
