A milestone in the construction of the Jack H. Miller Center for Musical Arts has been achieved with the raising of the first sections of the auditorium wall. Each of the mammoth pre-cast concrete sections stands 65 feet tall, are 15 inches thick and weigh 80,000 pounds. They have been designed to insulate the auditorium from outside noises (nearby train whistles). Despite this tough winter, construction remains on schedule for an opening in the fall of the 2015-16 school year.
