DAA RequirementsThe Distinguished Artist Award (DAA) is offered to a student chosen each year by the Department of Art Faculty. The student is selected for a DAA because the faculty believes they have exceptional promise as artists, and because they will be leaders in the department. DAA holders are role models for their student colleagues, and are highly visible in the department.
DAA recipients are required to enroll during the two semesters of their freshman year in at least two of the following courses: Art: Critical History I and II, Basic Drawing, Basic Painting, Basic Sculpture, Basic Design, Basic Ceramics, Watercolor, Fundamentals of Photography. Enrolling in upper level courses or advanced placement is permitted only with the approval of the Art Department faculty. Other DAA requirements are as follows:
