Donald Cronkite has been doing research with Paramecium since 1964 when he was an undergraduate student at Indiana University.  He has done research on and published papers about several species, including P. octaurelia, P. caudatum, P. bursaria, and P. calkinsi.

Since 1991, Donald has been working with high school teachers at the Woodrow Wilson Leadership Institutes for Teachers and at the Toucan Project at his own Hope College.

For 25 years he has been a Professor of Biology at Hope College in Holland, MI.
