Annual Report Text, 2002-2003Dr. Sanford spent last year wrapping up research in the propellane area and developing a new research area in light emitting electrochemical cells. Natalie Hosking ('04), Matt Davis ('04), Rosalina Roa ('05) and David Weatherly ('06) helped these efforts in the lab. The move to the New Science Center dominated the year. One morning we arrived to find the east hall of Peale ended before our lab! Since we were on the far side of the construction wall, we were officially the first lab in the new building. When the real move came, we just had to roll everything straight down the new hallway into our amazing new lab. The new organic teaching lab is also beautiful-tons of fumes hoods with double the amount of space and windows with a view. Dr. Sanford, her husband Jim Timmermann, Daniel (6) and Eleanor (4) and Evelyn (2) have had a busy year dealing simultaneously with school, daycare and elder care. Daniel has a toothless grin this year and Eleanor and Evelyn are reaching national averages in growth by being at the opposite ends of the height scale. |
