COMMUNICATION DEPARTMENT POLICY ON EXEMPTIONS FROM COMM 280 REQUIREMENT FOR DOUBLE SOCIAL SCIENCE MAJORS

Students may substitute Psychology Research Methods or Sociology Research Methods for Communication Research Methods (COMM 280). However, all students must take the required number of hours in the major. This means that if a student is subbing another social science research methods course, they must take an additional 4-hr elective in communication. Only psychology and sociology research methods can be used to substitute for COMM 280. Courses in humanities and natural sciences are not social science research methods courses.
