Sara Steele ('03), a communication and political science graduate, is the Web Site Coordinator for the White House Office of Media Affairs. While at Hope she interned in that office during her semester in Washington, DC.
Patrick McConahy ('07) is working for Google in online advertising sales. While at Hope, he participated in the Philadelphia Center semester and was the editor for the Communication Department Newsletter.
Nicole McClain Liechty ('98) is a practicing attorney in Birmingham, Alabama. While at Hope she wrote for the Anchor student newspaper.
Erika Anderson ('90) is on the faculty in the Department of Communication at the University of Southern Maine. After graduating from Hope Erika went on to earn her Master's in Communication from the University of Maine at Orono and her Ph.D. in Interpersonal Communication from the University of Connecticut.
Craig Piersma ('87) is director of corporate communications for Gentex Corporation in Zeeland, Michigan, and has served as adjunct professor of public relations writing for Grand Valley State University. Piersma graduated Magna Cum Laude from Hope College in 1987, and was recipient of the J. Ackerman Coles Award for Communications Studies.
Bryan Boersma ('00) is the Associate Minister of Outreach and Youth at First Reformed Church in Oak Harbor, Washington. In addition to his academic coursework, Bryan's involvement in Campus Ministries helped shape his pastoral identity and skills. After graduating from Hope, Bryan went on to earn an M.Div. from Western Theological Seminary.
Hussam Kannan ('03) is currently pursuing a degree in global communication at the University of Southern California (USC) Annenberg School of Communication. He has also worked as a writer/editor of a website for an organization that seeks to assist the Iraqi population with higher education in the United States.
Annetta Miller ('75) has been a senior writer for Newsweek since 1986. She has also worked as a reporter for the Canton Daily Ledger in Canton, Illinois, as a writer for Florida Trend magazine and The St. Petersburg Times, and as a correspondent for Money magazine.
Elizabeth Braham Spencer ('86) is the Executive Director of Naperville Community Television, NCTV17, and teaches television production at North Central College. In addition to her B.A. in Communication from Hope, Elizabeth earned an M.S. degree in Communication Management from Northwestern University.
Meredith Ter Haar Schrotenboer ('03) is a television reporter and producer at WZZM-TV13 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. While at Hope, Meredith interned at three television stations including ABC-7 in Chicago. She also worked on the Anchor student newspaper, was a communication research assistant, participated in the Chicago Semester, and became a member of Lambda Pi Eta National Communication Honor Society.
