Mi Rosie Jahng, Ph.D

Specialty Areas: Social Media

Dr. Jahng joined the Communication Department in fall 2013. She holds a PhD in Journalism from the University of Missouri, MA from the University of Texas-Austin (Journalism), and Seoul National University (Communication) and her BA from Sookmyung Women’s University in South Korea. She is broadly interested in how social media can influence our political behavior and attitudes, such as how participation in heterogeneous political discussions via online channels can discourage selective exposure to political information. She is also interested in the ways in which activists can utilize social media to engage and promote their causes to the general public and other organizations. Dr. Jahng serves as the faculty advisor to The Anchor student newspaper.
