INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

Jason Cash, 2006 Graduate
Marketing

Evergreen Commons, Non-Profit Marketing
The Image Group, Project Management

“During my internships, I found many situations where I was able to connect my coursework with my internship work. Courses such as Print Media, Public Presentations, Media Production, Communication for Public Relations, and The Art and Science of Persuasion were all instrumental in my preparation for work as an intern. Those courses gave me an advantage at my internships because they prepared me for the workplace by offering both theory and practical based instruction. My communication courses guided me to be a better writer and strategic thinker, which gave me confidence in my ability outside of the classroom.

I believe that my ability to find a career after graduating from Hope was largely to do with my internship experiences and the networking opportunities that occurred because of them.

My internship experiences equipped me with specific skill sets including learning the current practices of the non-profit sector and the strategies and technologies used in a marketing agency. My internships educated me on the methods of the business world including working with clients, vendors, and co-workers. These benefits were distinctly different than those I experienced in the classroom, and would not have been possible without an internship.”
