Kurtze Wickersheimer Dance Performance
Award
The Hope College Dance Department is pleased to announce the inception
of the
Kurtze Wickersheimer Dance Performance Award
Given in recognition of a senior dance major or minor for outstanding
sustained achievement in the Art of Dance having demonstrated qualitative
range and long-term development as a performing artist.
The Kurtze Wickersheimer Award is intended to help support a young artist
navigate the intersection of academe and artistic life – a pivotal
moment in the artist’s career.
The successful applicant will provide evidence of intent to pursue a professional
dance career. The prospective awardee will submit complete application
(see below) by Friday February 24, 2012, to be reviewed by a panel of dance
faculty plus two alumni who have successfully worked in the professional
arena of dance.
$1,000 award open to senior dance majors and minors

’01 alum Jodi Kurtze Wickersheimer graduated from Hope with majors
in dance performance/choreography and communication. She danced professionally
with Jump Rhythm Jazz Project and Billy Siegenfield Dance Company and served
as associate director of special gifts with the American Diabetes Association
in Chicago, An active volunteer with many organizations, she is currently
Senior Director of Development, Chicago College of Performing Arts/University
Libraries at Roosevelt University in Chicago, IL. In 2007 she was awarded
the Hope College Young Alumni recipient. This award is the highest honor
the Hope College Alumni Association can bestow on a young alumnus.
