Rehearsal season begins as early as October. Dates and times will vary
according to choreographer needs and participants’ schedules.
Technical Rehearsals take place February 21-27.
Performances take place February 28, March 1, March 6, 7, and 8.
Piece Information:
Linda Graham will be revisiting “En Passant” (captured in
passing), a contemporary ballet originally created in 2004. This metaphysical
game of chess becomes the gateway to a story of mystery, seduction and
eternal struggle.
Sharon Wong is creating a new work in the Jazz genre with music by Al
Jarreau, played live by the Hope College Jazz Faculty.
Steven Iannacone will be revisiting his 2004 “UNET,” a challenging
duet performed on benches, emphasizing shape, moving forms, unison and
athleticism…part science fiction, part kinetic toy box, part visual
illusion supported with unique costuming and lighting. Men and women
welcome as this duet will work in any gender combination. Bench work
at the audition required. Be part of the lineage of this piece that was
originally created on faculty member Matthew Farmer!
Crystal Frazier is creating a new work in the Tap genre.
Maxine DeBruyn and Nicki Flinn will be revisiting “Snickerdoodles,” an
exploration of space, driven by color and shape.
Matt Farmer is creating a new work in the Jazz genre.
Anne-Rene Petrarca (guest artist) is creating a new work in the Contemporary
genre. She is looking for dancers who are willing to take risks and embody
a strong commitment and passion for their dancing and performance quality.
Knee pads strongly encouraged for audition.
Julie Powell is creating a new work in the Ballet genre, loosely inspired
by “The Three Graces.” Do you want to be a goddess? Come
learn about the three Graces in Greek mythology: Aglala, the Grace that
symbolized beauty; Eupgrosyne, the Grace of delight; and Thalia, the
Grace of blossom. According to Greek poet Pindar, these enchanting goddesses
were created to fill the world with pleasant moments and goodwill.
Angie Yetzke is creating a new work in the Contemporary genre.
