San Francisco Trip

The Baker Scholars had the opportunity to travel to San Franciso over mid-winter break in February. The group started the trip with a visit at Cisco Systems and met with a Hope alum and Baker Scholar who works at Cisco. We then took a tour through Google's campus in Mountain View, CA and learned about their business model. We spent the weekend hiking in the famous Muir Woods forests and going around the city. We also visited the Chinese consulate and had a information session at Pier 39, San Franciso's premier tourist attraction.

Each visit had wonderful insights about the current and future market place for students entering the world with a broad liberal arts education. The group highly values the opportunity to meet with business leaders who are at the forefront of the business world everyday. It is this type of real world interaction that bridges the gap between the academic world and the business world. The students enjoyed an array of delicious food. It was a wonderful trip that made for great business, cultural, and unique experiences.
