Our History

Hope College, in Holland, Michigan, began a Student Chapter of Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD) in September 1993. Over the course of the following two years, the leadership team members developed the organization until it was accepted for official membership in ASCD International. Hope College was the first to offer an ASCD student chapter in October 1995. Since 1995 ASCD has been a successful organization on campus. Each year we attract approximately one hundred members and have an average of one workshop every month. We also host one larger workshop a year from which we feel members of the community could benefit.
