Our
History |
| In September 1993, students at Hope College began a student
chapter of ASCD, looking for a way to engage in pre-service
professional development. Over the next two years, the leadership
developed the organization until the Association for Supervision
and Curriculum Development International accepted the group
for official membership. This marked Hope College as the first
institution to offer a student chapter, setting the precedent
for many other colleges and universities. Enjoying periods
of varying activity over the past twenty years, Hope's ASCD
chapter offers an average of three professional development
workshops per year. Panels, symposiums, and other opportunities
have also been offered. |
