FINGERPRINTING RESULTS
Hope College is now working with the Professional Educational Services
Group (PESG) for housing results of criminal background checks and processing
paperwork for substitute teaching. PESG works with all school districts
in Ottawa Country with the exception of Grand Haven Public Schools and
most other counties in the area (Kent, VanBuren, Allegan).
The results of your background check will be sent directly to PESG if
you utilize their LiveScan Agency Fingerprint Data Entry Form above.
At the beginning of each semester, the Education Department will submit
a list of student teachers to PESG to request the names of any students
for whom the background check resulted in a response that would cause
a student to be denied to student teach.
PLEASE BE AWARE THAT HOPE COLLEGE DOES
NOT RECEIVE THE ACTUAL RESULTS OF CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECKS FROM
PESG.
If you had a criminal background check completed within the last academic
year for a paid position (coaching, summer camp, etc.), you will need
to submit a Fingerprints Transferred to PESG (Form 12) at the above link
to your former employer.
NOTE: OUT OF STATE
PLACEMENTS
Students who are participating in the
Chicago and Philadelphia Semester Programs MUST be fingerprinted
in the respective states as part of the application process for each
individual program.
