Application to Teacher Education Program

1st Friday in MARCH for Spring Semester

IDS 200 - Encounter with Cultures - course is required of all students seeking teaching certification through the Hope College Education Department. It also fully meets the General Education diversity requirement.
IDS 200 :

The Michigan Department of Education requires the following information from all applicants for Michigan Teacher Certification:

Have you ever been convicted of a misdemeanor or felony?
If yes, please explain in writing and see the Department Chairperson.

If you answered “yes” to any of the above questions, you must submit a signed explanation to be considered for admission to the Hope College teacher education program.  It is your responsibility to notify Richard Mezeske, Education Department Chairperson and Cher Schairer, Director of Certification, of any misdemeanor or felony charges and convictions while you are a student at Hope College.  

Failure to disclose any misdemeanor or felony constitutes fraud on this application and will result in dismissal from the Teacher Education Program.
