Field Experience Multimedia Presentation Guidelines |
|
Guidelines You will have 15 minutes for your presentation and must stop at the end of your time. Rehearse your presentation so you can adhere to the time frame. Your PowerPoint is an outline for sharing your information. You do not need to discuss everything on each slide. For example, under the Reactions section you may have 4 thoughts listed but will only discuss one or two. The audience is able to read the others. Also, each slide does not need to have the text flying from the left or right or each graphic swiveling. Often the design of the PowerPoint can be distracting to the audience. Title page: Be sure to include your name, Ed. 226, Semester, and anything else you wish. Description: Share the setting and the person/s with whom you are working. Reactions: Relate how you felt when you arrived at the placement. Was it what you thought, etc. Goals: The range may be from getting to the placement on time to learning the characteristics of autism. Make sure your goals are specific and measurable. Getting to know about special education students is not a specific goal. Staff: Share how you interact with the staff or why you do not. Responsibilities: What are you doing in the setting each time you are there? Could/should you be doing more? Use of technology: How is technology used or how could it be used? Course/text connections: Read areas in your text that relate to your setting and share the information and the relationship. Chapters on diversity, management, assessment, and teaching strategies may be useful. Professional
journal article: Briefly summarize a recent article from a professional
journal. Describe its relationship to your field placement setting.
Your reference should be included at the end and in APA format. An example
of APA format is: For examples of references with more than one author, please see page 240 in the APA reference journal, which can be found at the reference desk in the library. WWW information: Search the Internet for information that relates to your setting. On a slide make a link to the website and share specific details on how this would be useful information for your placement. Strengths/areas to improve: Be honest and reflective on your performance in the placement. Conclusion: Create an ending to your presentation.
Design of the Presentation Include the following in your PowerPoint presentation:
