Creating a Portfolio and “Table of Contents” in Chalk and Wire

for the Student Teaching Seminar – Fall Semester 2005

 

Please follow these directions to create a Portfolio and Table of Contents in Chalk & Wire for the Student Teaching Seminar. 

 

1. From the home page of the Education Department’s web site: access Chalk & Wire, enter username and password, click on the box, “Allow Session to Continue without Timeout,” and click on the o.k. button.  Then click “yes” on the security warning.


2. Click on ePortfolio

Create A New Portfolio

 

3. In the Create A New Portfolio box type Student Teaching Portfolio, then click on Create.


Create New Table of Contents


4. Scroll down to the Create a Table of Contents box.


5. In the Title box, type


6. Then click the “Create a Table of Contents” button.


7. In the “Section Name” box type “Personal Information” for the first section of your Table of Contents and click on the highlighted “Save changes  button.  (Upper)

  a.  In the “Subsection” box type “All About Me and click “Save changes.” 

  b. In the “Subsection” box type “Resume and click “Save changes.” 

  c.  In the “Subsection” box type “Letters of Recommendation and click “Save changes.” 

 

8. In the next “Section Name” box type “Teaching Experiences and click “Save changes.”   

a.       In the “Subsection” box type “Level I Field Placements and click “Save changes.” 

b.      In the “Subsection” box type “Level II Field Placements and click “Save changes.” 

c.       In the “Subsection” box type “Student Teaching Placement and click “Save changes.” 

 

9.  In the “Section Name” box type “Performance Samples and click “Save changes.” 

a.       In the first “Subsection” box type “Behavior Management Philosophy” and click “Save changes.”   

b.      In the next “Subsection” box type “Lesson Plans” and click “Save changes.” 

c.        In the next “Subsection” box type “Unit Plans” and click “Save changes.” 

d.      In the next “Subsection” box type “Technology Skills” and click “Save changes.” 

e.       In the next “Subsection” box type “Video Clips” and click “Save changes.” 

 

10.  In the next “Section Name” box type “Other Related Experiences and click “Save Changes.”

a.       In the first “Subsection” box type Camp Counselorand click “Save changes.” 

b.      In the next “Subsection” box type “Sports” and click “Save changes.”    

 

11. In the last “Section Name” box type, “Professional Development and click “Save changes.”    

a.       In the first “Subsection” box type “ASCD and CEC” and click “Save changes.” 

b.      In the next “Subsection” box type “Conferences and Workshops” and click “Save changes.”

 

    

12. Click on “Exit” (be sure to do this step or it will not work). 

 

13. Scroll down to the Table Of Contents “Student Teaching Portfolio” you created and click on  Use” button.  

 

14. This will take you to the themes.  Select your preferred theme by clicking on the bullet next to the theme.

 

15. Click Publish located in the header

 

16. Click on: “View your ePortfolio” web site address at the bottom of the announcement.
