Business:

 

A spirited group gathered for our first meeting!  The following items were discussed:

  1. Check to see if Matt, Steve, and Jennifer are able to serve on the committee this year.
  2. Select two sophomore students to serve on the committee.
  3. Meeting dates are:
    1. Thursday, Sept. 18       from 5:30-7:30  Van Zoeren 247 & computer lab
    2. Thursday, Oct. 2          from 5:30-7:30   Van Zoeren 247 & computer lab
    3. Wednesday, Oct.15     from 3:30-5:30   Granberg Room
    4. Thursday, Oct. 23       from 5:30-7:30   Van Zoeren 247 & computer lab
    5. Thursday, Nov. 6        from 5:30-7:30   Van Zoeren 247 & computer lab
    6. Thursday, Nov. 20      from 5:30-7:30   Van Zoeren 247 & computer lab

 

During these meetings the seniors will select artifacts from their storage bins and begin to develop the portfolios which are due during their student teaching experience.  Sophomores and juniors will develop their electronic storage bins.

Derek Broyhill will create a web site for the Technology Committee.  It will be on the Education Department web site.  Margie and Susan will design a portfolio template using Microsoft Document Map for the next meeting.  We discussed offering workshops for education students who want to develop electronic portfolios and will discuss this further at our next meeting!

 

As faculty sponsor I can say with enthusiasm that this team is fun, smart, energetic, and hardworking!  I am happy to be a member.  Susan cherup J
