PATH the Program for the Academically Talented at Hope, began
in 1986 as a cooperative project of Hope College and the Ottawa
Area Intermediate School District. It was developed to serve academically
talented seventh, eighth and ninth graders from greater Ottawa
County by offering fast-paced, accelerated instruction in writing
and mathematics. Today, we have over 25 public and private school
districts participating from Allegan, Kent, Ottawa, and Muskegon
Counties. We have up to one hundred and seventy-five students enrolled
each year.
PATH enables local school districts to offer academically talented
students instruction at an appropriate pace and at an appropriate
level within a group of equally talented students. Based upon the
academically challenging environment, PATH learners forge important
peer relationships as well as, obtain vital core information.
