ENGS 333 -
Dynamic Systems and Controls Laboratory
Course Description
A laboratory to accompany Engineering Science 331, Dynamic Systems and Controls I. The laboratory investigates the dynamic properties of systems of first and second order mechanical systems. Both linear and rotary systems are investigated. Systems with multiple masses and springs are studied. Controllers are developed and applied to some of the systems.
Course Objectives
Enhance understanding of linear dynamics system concepts covered in the accompanying class (ENGS 331 - Dynamic Systems and Controls) by hands-on observation of physical system behavior. [3]
Gain an understanding of the uses and limitations of simplified mathematical models in understanding and controlling dynamic systems. [2]
Acquire ability to design and implement a feedback control system to achieve certain performance criteria. [4]
