Mechanical Testing Laboratory

Major equipment includes: a computer-controlled Instron 4204 mechanical testing machine with a 50 kN axial load cell, tension grips, a three-point bend fixture, and an extensometer; a Rockwell hardness tester (model HR-150A); and a Thermolyne 1400 furnace. The laboratory is also equipped with a Vishay P-3500 strain indicator and SB-10 switch and balance unit for taking strain measurements from up to ten electrical resistance strain gages at the same time.
