Kathleen Verduin just received news that her essay "Bread of
Angels: Dante Studies and the Moral Vision of Charles Eliot Norton" has
been accepted for publication in Dante Studies. Kathleen's work on
Dante's reception in America has been meeting success at every turn.

Hemenway presented the keynote address at the 50-Year Reunion of
his high school class, in Worcester, MA. Stephen was president of his
class and editor of the school paper, so he had stories to tell!

address at the Shakespeare and Renaissance Ethics Conference at Yale
University

weekend.
John's
address was
titled "Shakespeare's Prayers," a study of the many prayers
offered by characters in the plays.

Hope English grad Kyle Delhagen will be starting a new job as a Chaplain
in a residency program at the Albert Einstein Medical Center.
Katie Budris, also an English major, will be teaching at Bucks County
Community College and Mercer couty Community College.

Kresge Award Winner

Our grad, Steve Hughes, has received a Kresge Award. The fellowships, each
including a $25,000 prize funded by the Kresge Foundation, are awarded
annually to visual, literary and performing artists and are the largest
such awards available to individual artists in metropolitan Detroit. Here's

in the newest issue of SAFARA: Revue Internationale de Langues, Litteratures
et Cultures (Senegal).
Curtis Gruenler's article on C.S. Lewis and Rene Girard has been
accepted for publication in Christianity and Literature.
Heather Sellers's"Victory Gardens" was a finalist
for the Narrative 2009 story contest. Heather also gave an early January
reading in New York City, appearing with the vocal group Soho Voce.
Jack Ridl has made a clean sweep of the Best-of-2009 lists. The
