Muffle Ovens

A muffle oven is a front-loading box-type oven or kiln for high-temperature applications such as fusing glass, creating enamel coatings, ceramics and annealing mineral samples (wikipedia.org). In the GES department, the ovens are also used for removal of organic carbon compounds from soil samples.
