Bob Swierenga has long enjoyed a reputation as an internationally renowned scholar of immigration history and, especially, of Dutch immigration. He has written or edited numerous books and articles on immigration and on the use of quantitative analysis in the study of history. Hope and the History department are fortunate to have a scholar of his stature as a Research Fellow of the A. C. Van Raalte Institute for Historical Studies and as an adjunct member of the faculty.
