Student Checklist for Internship Registration

1. Consult the academic department that will oversee your internship (faculty listing below). Every department handles internships differently so it is important that you ask about any specific procedures or documentation that may be required.

2. After consulting with your faculty supervisor, you must obtain their required signature on either the Permission to Register Form or the Academic Internship Registration Form.

   Permission to Register For an Academic Internship
   This form should be used if you intend to earn academic credit for your internship but have not secured an employer host. By submitting this form, your student status and financial aid will not be effected while securing your internship.

   Academic Internship Registration Form
   This form should be used if/when you have secured your internship.

3. Bring the signed and completed form to the Registrar’s Office in DeWitt to register. Review your class schedule on KnowHope Plus.

4. IMPORTANT: If you submitted a Permission to Register Form, once your internship is secured, you will need to drop the pending internship course and add the academic internship using the Academic Internship Registration Form. Failure to do so by the drop/add deadline (posted on the academic calendar) will result in removal from the internship.
