ON-LINE RESOURCES

back to the June 2004 frontpage

The website for the Collaboratory for GIS and Mediterranean Archaeology (CGMA) is up & running. This Collaboratory is funded by a four-year Mellon grant, and includes among its PIs REBECCA SCHINDLER & PEDAR FOSS (DePauw) and P. NICK KARDULIAS (Wooster).

JOHN GRUBER-MILLER published a wonderful history of Classics at Cornell, in honor of the college's sesquicentennial, in Amicitia, the newsletter of the Iowa Classical Association. It can be downloaded as a pdf file. Perhaps it will inspire the rest of us to document our own histories!

TOM SIENKEWICZ is serious about promoting Latin! The above poster & other free material can be downloaded here.

Reviews in the first half of the year were skewed toward Greek matters:
Bryn Mawr Classical Review

STEWART FLORY (Gustavus Adolphus) on Derow & Parker, ed., Herodotus and His World
TIMOTHY HOWE (St Olaf) on Kotjabopoulou et al., Zooarchaeology in Greece: Recent Advances
DONALD LATEINER (Ohio Wesleyan) on Bers, Demosthenes: Speeches 50-59
CHRIS SEEMAN (Coe) on Rajak, ed., The Jewish Dialogue with Greece and Rome

H-Net Reviews
TOM SIENKEWICZ (Monmouth) on Pomeroy, Spartan Women & McClure et al., Sexuality and Gender in the Ancient World
