The Classics Program at Ripon continues to garner competitive college grants for student-faculty collaborative projects. Classical Languages major Zachary Chitwood has been named the first "Student Scholar" in the college's new Ethical Leadership Program, and has received a grant to support his (non-credit) study of military captives in the Greek, Roman, and Byzantine eras. EDDIE LOWRY is faculty mentor for this project. Chitwood, a CAMWS Manson Stewart scholar this year, will present a paper on one aspect of his reseach at the March 2005 CAMWS meeting in Madison, WI.
