1400 Turn

In a massive tank battle, 6 GRDI and 3/49 take on the 4-II-8. Both sides lose heavily (around 8 vehicles each). Elements of Raffin's command (3/45 and 4 BCC) helped out from the woods, which kept the French in the battle. 4-II-8 withdraws to link up with newly arrived troops, 6-II-8 and Lehr AT (24 guns!). 3/205 cautiously advances across the N/S road towards its pre-Stonne objective.

1/45 clears out Huttes d'Ogne and 1/67 + 2/45 advances across the main highway into position north of Stonne. II/GD sends a company across to oppose these suspected French moves. A company ain't gonna cut it, though :-) Note that II/GD has shifted to meet this threat from the north, leaving an open door for a French attack from the south.

1-2/49 BCC enter and occupy La Besace, while I/69 (German) enters from the north and looks to be heading for a direct confrontation with the eager French tankers. Remnants of Stu.Pio. and the shattered company of I/GD (the one at Huttes, remember?) regroup and try to get their battalion morale down. Unfortunately for I/GD, it's HQ is not in Stonne, but waited with the reserve company. Oops.
