You have combined infantry/tank groups in 14.16, 15.18, 17.19, 18.18 and 19.19. This turn you are unable to carry out the desired recon because of heavy fighting. You fire on German infantry in 18.19, shattering it (no resistance left). You also engage infantry in 16.19 and 14.18 effectively, suppressing them so that you received no return fire. The tanks are REALLY helping, and the German inf. seems at a loss as how to stop them.
The German unit directly to the north seems to have broken contact, so only the two hexes 16.19 and 14.18 are in contact right now. If you want to continue with recon within the framework of your current orders, it seems like now you have some breathing room to do so.
HQ is slightly behind your lines in the middle.
You'll need more time to develop better intelligence, since you are still in a firefight.
You work on figuring out what is going on. 2nd co. is still disorganized from their bloody attack. As far as you can tell, here are your casualties:
1st co: 35% casualties
2nd co: 20% casualties
3rd co: 65% casualties (only 2 platoons effective)
MG co: 5 steps left
Mortar: 1 mortar operational
You have a feeling that your unit is fairly brittle at this point. The reservists have been doing their duty, but not very competently, and the heavy casualties have them discouraged.

This combined arms thing seems to be working pretty well!
Your unit is poised to move. Not many sounds of battle to the south, the arty fire has subsided, and you hear only sporadic small-arms fire. What to do, what to do... :-)
1) Your spotter is moving towards 25.16, one or two turns until arrival.
2) You can assume your spotters will hit anything they can hit.
3) On the bloody bodies near Stonne, the distance is too great to get an accurate estimate of casualties. There seem to be some Germans still out there, and there is one burning StG III.
4) Your reinforcements should arrive at 800. You can communicate with these commanders by radio, and indeed I suggest you coordinate with them immediately. They have been receiving all messages sent to all French commanders. The runners may have taken a while to reach them.
5) Hex 26.15 provides concealment.
0720 goes by, nothing new to report that your officers haven't sent already. Your arty spotter sees nothing.
Nothing much to report this turn. Your units are still establishing themselves in Stonne. I don't think I have any definite orders on redistributing IV/GD assets, do I? Your platoon in 33.10 wants to know if they should stay there (with the remaining Stg.III). Your men are somewhat confused as to the actual situation, so another clarification would be in order.
3rd Co. is working on following the orders you sent them.
No arty attacks this turn. A French fighter attacked the platoon in 33.10, but missed it's target.
Things pretty much quiet at your end. 6th co. is in position around Candrieres as ordered, and the platoon from 5th co. is near its objective. Your hasty defense opsheet implemented, so you all have orders now. Your reserve opsheet is still in progress.
Your HQ gets a grasp of the situation. Here are your current dispositions:
9th co: 2.21, 4.20, 6.19. They are supported by IGs and AT guns.
10th co: 16.19, 14.18, 12.17 They are opposed by strong French inf. and
tank teams in 14.17, 15.18, 17.19 and maybe more out of sight
11th co: 9.18, 10.16, 9.15 (with arty observer)
10th co. suffered heavy fire from French forces and were unable to return effective fire. Your far left flank reports only about 10 effectives left (i.e. platoon and MG unit almost ready to break). Other units temporarily out of contact, but report large French forces just out of visibility from the main units.
11th co. reports possible vehicle sounds directly to the south.
Gee, ain't it excitin'? :-)
As far as you can tell, your orders are being carried out. No new intelligence to report.
Your bn begins it's withdraw, but before it can be executed, strong French fire shatters a platoon in 18.19. You estimate almost a co. of tanks assisted, as well as infilading MG fire. The rest of the unit retreated without any losses.
So scratch one pl. from 2nd co :-(
Your eager staff begin work on the new operations you outlined to them. They will get back at those Froggies yet!
Your unit continues the necessary organizational work to carry out the move to Huttes and then prepare for reserve action.
I assume you want to carry out your Preliminary Instructions immediately? Just need confirmation...
All else quiet.
