You and 4 BCC continue pushing towards Worm. Resistance has lightened up considerably. One tank is engaging German inf. (tank in 13.18) but after a firefight, the Germans pulled back. You are now deployed parallel to the road (in the hex, but covered from the air) between 11.16 and 16.18.
Nothing much to report. Light fighting sounds to the east. The Germans are leaving you alone. 6 GRDI has backed off some and gone into a column behind you, which is fine with you, since you don't feel crowded right now.
Your new tanks are still under GHQ operational control (they have a set march route
set out) - I'll let you know when they revert to your control. You know how many steps of MGs you have, but not the form they take...
You and 1-2/205 continue pushing towards Worm. Resistance has lightened up considerably. One tank is engaging German inf. (tank in 13.18) but after a firefight, the Germans pulled back. You are now deployed parallel to the road (in the hex, but covered from the air) between 11.16 and 16.18. Stacked with the infantry of course.
You begin moving back into a column, which eases the situation with 3/205. It's generally a bad idea to locate a combat formation directly behind another one. You hear some firing to the west, small arms and what sounds like a tank main gun. Hmmm, wonder what's up there?
Not much happening. Your reinforcements apparently are on their way to Worm. No fighting reports, sounds of fighting faint. Some German planes flying around, but nothing terrible.
Your arty spotters see nothing.
Not much happening (so what else is new?) The dust raised by whatever column it was you saw is heading west. French planes give you another respite. Your reserve company cannot seem to get its act together, and still has not moved out yet.
Your instructions were fine, and your units begin executing them. All does seem quiet, though I assume you'll get involved in some fighting at some point. The tanks that your OP observed have disappeared behind the hill (presumably into the woods).
You battle a lone tank in 13.18 inconclusively (no casualties), then pull back a bit, as morale is terrible (your units is close to breaking).
Your dispositions:
9 co. 3.21, 4.20, 5.20
10 co. 12.19, 14.20
11 co. 7.20, 9.19, 11.19
Nothing new to report. The Luftwaffe is trying to get some planes into the area, but without great success. No new reports from your commanders.
Nothing happening with you this turn. Instructions understood.
Nothing new. STILL unable to get your column moving. Geez, what is this, some recruits on maneuvers? ;-)
