French Cultural Studies Colloquium:
Wade Gugino


The French Cultural Studies Colloquium presents Wade Gugino who will speak on the importance of learning a second language in today's global society.

The presentation entitled "France from an American Perspective: Considerations on Everyday Life and Professional Aspects" will be presented on Wednesday, March 5, at 4 p.m. in the Maas Center Conference Room.

Wade Gugino, a 1992 Hope graduate, lived in Europe for fifteen years and in France for twelve of those years, playing professional basketball. He met his American wife in Paris and has four children. All enjoy dual citizenship. He is currently working on becoming a professional cartoonist. Mr. Gugino's presentation will focus on his experiences in France and the importance of knowing a second language. He will also speak about the importance of "Bandes Dessinées" in France and their American counterparts, the graphic novel.

The public is invited. Admission is free. Refreshments will be served.
