Spanish Co-Curricular Activities

Spanish House
The Spanish house is located on Lincoln Ave. and it is sponsored by the Spanish Dept. Six students reside in the house and they receive half credit per semester. You may consult with Prof. Liliana Dorado (ext. 7565) if you are interested in living at the house for a semester.

Spanish Conversation and Grammar Review
Spanish conversation and grammar review is conducted every Tuesday from 3:00 - 3:50 in Graves 208. Students will review grammar while practice conversation and gain extra credit! You may also register for one credit if you participate in these events.

Sigma Delta Pi - Epsilon Pi Chapter at Hope
The Spanish honorary society awards their outstanding students annually for their accomplishments in the Spanish language - the purposes of the society are:

  1. to honor those who attain excellence in the study of the Spanish language and in the study of the literature and culture of the Spanish-speaking peoples;
  2. to honor those who have made the Hispanic contributions to modern culture better known in the English-speaking world;
  3. To encourage college and university students to acquire a greater interest in and a deeper understanding of Hispanic culture;
  4. To foster friendly relations and mutual respect between the nations of Hispanic speech and those of English speech;
  5. To serve its membership in ways which will contribute to the attainment of the goals and ideals of the society.
