(please read and submit to gain access to the application)

The purpose of CFL's mentoring program is to initiate and facilitate interactive learning relationships mutually recognized and defined by both the mentor and student to increase maturity in leadership.

The goals of the mentoring program are to help students:

  • Discover their gifts
  • Identify their priorities
  • Discern their career opportunities
  • Learn about servant leadership

Students are expected to:

  • Initiate the first contact with their mentor within the first week of receiving their mentor's contact information.
  • Invite their mentor to at least two of the on-campus Monday Mentoring Conversations.
  • Commit to other meetings or conversations with their mentor. Mentors and students should communicate at least once per week.
  • Come prepared with questions to each meeting with their mentor.
  • Dress in appropriate business attire.
  • Send a thank you note to their mentor.

Please note:

  • If you do not contact your mentor you will lose your privilege to be part of CFL’s mentoring program. Note: Mentors have the right to "fire" students from the mentoring program with just cause and proper warning.
  • As part of the application process, applications may be reviewed by the Dean of Students office. During this process your grade point average (GPA) and your judicial records maybe reviewed and if there are any concerns, they will be brought to the attention of the program director.
  • By submitting this request, you give CFL permission to share your application with your mentor and with any other individuals CFL deems appropriate.
