ASI Student Consulting = Students + Professionals + Subject Area Specialists + Hope

ASI (Assessment, Solutions, Implementation) Student Research and Consulting is nothing like your parent's consulting organization. Operating within Hope College's Center for Faithful Leadership, ASI employs creative students from multiple disciplines to take a fresh look at pressing organizational and societal needs. They are youthful, idealistic, and their glass is always half-full. They operate outside the box.

Where their elders throw up their hands in despair over social problems that have been around as long as they have, these students are unaware that these problems are insoluble.

Their perspectives are supersized by the technology that is never far from them. They are not afraid of computers and operate as regular travelers on an “internet highway” that gives them immediate access to the world's knowledge and makes them comfortable residents of the global village.

A support team that includes multi-disciplined professors, research experts, an advisory group consisting of business professionals, alumni and friends, and endless access to information offsets their lack of experience. Not only will the students bring fresh energy to problems that many have grown tired of, but the professors of Hope College will also help these students provide innovative thinking to the challenges they face.

Most of all, the ASI students care deeply about neighbors in need and long to assist those who provide relief and hope for them.

What Clients Say

“The student team helped us explore ways to capitalize on our strengths.” -- Jeff Teerman of Teerman's in downtown Holland

"Darryl [Bartlett, Executive Director, Holland Rescue Mission] and I have both been so pleased and blessed to see how the students have taken ownership of the problem of the Gap Population. We were impressed with all the hard work that was done, and with just how far things have come. [Former Hope College Provost] Jim Boelkins has been a wonderful ASI mentor and we appreciate so much his leadership and assistance in so many ways." -- Janet Ewing, Rock Urban Youth and Family Hope Ministries Director, Holland Rescue Mission,

What Students Say

"ASI Consulting has given me tools for life and business that most internships cannot offer. The great concept behind ASI Consulting is that the students run the organization but we also team and learn from business professionals. ASI Consulting has been a rewarding experience, giving me opportunities that the average college student would never expect from their college education." -- Maria Kotman

"ASI has given me real world experience. Six months ago, I never imagined I would be contracting to create a communication system for a collaborative food pantry network. Not only do I get real world experience, but I'm helping those in need receive food more effectively and efficiently." -- Jacob Rollenhagen
