At an early age, Emily was introduced to the idea of collaborating with other musicians. Her interest in collaborative piano helped enrich much of her musical education. Emily’s collaborative experiences include both instrumental and vocal accompaniment, orchestral, choral, musical theater productions, and opera workshops. She is a 2009 graduate from Hope College with a Bachelor of Music degree in piano performance. Emily earned a Master of Music in Collaborative Piano from Bowling Green State University in 2011. While at BGSU, she was awarded an honorable mention for the Virginia Marks Collaborative Piano Award, and was a finalist at the Dr. Marjorie Conrad Art Song Competition. She has been a student of Dr. Laura Melton, Dr. Solungga Fang-Tzu Liu, Charles Aschbrenner, Idil Ulgen, Waleed Howrani and Marianna Ziegler. Emily is a staff accompanist at Hope College and the choir accompanist for Pillar Church in Holland. In the summers, Emily is on staff at the BGSU Summer Music Institute Piano Camp.
