Hope College Young Artists Piano Competition


  • First Prize: $750*
  • Second Prize: $250
  • Third Prize: $150
  • Private lessons: All prize winners may receive one free private lesson with each member of the Hope College Piano Faculty (Dr. Andrew Le and Dr. Adam Clark). Dates and times to be arranged on an individual basis. It is recommended that these be scheduled in conjunction with a Hope College Office of Admissions Visitation Day.
  • Hope College Scholarships**

All prize money has been generously donated by
Charles Aschbrenner, Professor Emeritus in
Piano at Hope College

*If a senior, the first prize winner will be offered, in addition to the cash award, a Hope College Distinguished Artist Award (DAA) scholarship in piano valued at $2500 per academic year. Other music scholarships may also be offered at the discretion of the piano faculty. Acceptance of any scholarship is contingent upon acceptance to and enrollment at Hope College. The cash award for the first prize winner is guaranteed regardless of whether or not the DAA scholarship is accepted. You may learn more at

**For all competitors: Additional Hope College music scholarships may be awarded to seniors successfully completing the application process for study at Hope College. To be assured consideration for merit-based scholarships, the Admissions Office should receive a completed application by February 14, 2014. Cash awards for prize-winners are guaranteed regardless of whether or not a Department of Music scholarship is accepted.

Seniors wishing to be considered for merit-based scholarships may submit an application for admission to Hope College as late as February 14, 2014.
