Hope graduates with majors and minors in music are now professionals
in the music world. Others have pursued careers in business, education,
and other fields. Here's where some of them are now.
David Bellows '05
has been accepted in the Organ Performance Masters program at the Eastman
School of Music.
Lee Heerspink '04
is enrolled in Jazz Guitar Performance Masters program at the University
of South Florida.
Rich Van Voorst '04
is enrolled in the Jazz Composition Masters program at the University
of South Florida.
Paul Jackson '03
is teaching secondary choral music in the Ft Lauderdale, Florida area.
Quincy Marr '02
is one of four singers in the touring show cast of "In the Mood",
performing in cities all over the US, Canada and Hawaii from September,
2005 through May, 2006.
Anne Houseworth '01
is teaching music and dance in the Chicago Public Schools.
Greg Frens '01
is completing his DMA at Ohio State University and has performed with
Opera Columbus.nce and Music Education.
Meredith Arwady '00
was a winner in the New York Metropolitan Opera National Auditions in
2004 and is currently a member of Lyric Opera of Chicago Center for American
Artists.
Ryan Janus '98
received his M.M. in jazz from the University of South Florida and will
be a member of the Falconeers, the official band of the Falcon Air Force
Base in Colorado.
Mami Kato '97
received an M.M. in piano performance at the University of Michigan and
works as Artistic Assistant for the Detroit Symphony Orchestra.
Cynthia Kortman '93
is the Associate Music Director for "The Lion King" on Broadway,
conducting the show and playing keyboards.

Smit '89
is assistant stage director for the Metropolitan Opera Company, and has
recently worked at the Salzburg and Bregenz, Austria festivals.
Robert Hodson '88
earned his PhD. at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in Music Theory
and Jazz Studies. He is currently director of the music theory program
at Hope.
