As Director of the Hope College Young Artists
Piano Competition and Assistant Professor
of Piano in the Department of Music, it is my privilege to welcome you to the Hope College Young Artists Piano Competition information page.

As a participant in the competition, you will have the opportunity to become acquainted with Hope's internationally renowned artist faculty, as well as meet and hear other talented young musicians from Michigan and the surrounding states.

This year, we are pleased to offer a cash prize of $750 to the first place winner, along with significant second, third, and honorable mention cash prizes. We are also pleased to offer a Hope College Distinguished Artist Award (DAA) scholarship in piano, valued at $2500 per academic year, to the first prize winner of the competition. Whether you are currently a senior or only beginning to think about college, I encourage you to explore the Department of Music at Hope College. The department boasts a long history of excellence, offering both the Bachelor of Music (BM) and Bachelor of Arts (BA) degrees along with numerous study and performance opportunities to students campus-wide.
