Faculty Recognitions


Tom Bultman has been recently appointed as an Advisor for the journal New Phytologist. New Phytologist, published by Blackwell, offers rapid publication of high quality, original research in plant science. The journal is owned by a not-for-profit organization that is dedicated to the promotion of plant science. Bultman will be handling about 8 papers per year in his area of specialty - endrophytes.

William Polik, Professor of Chemistry, named American Chemical Society (ACS) Committee Chair, and inducted as a 2006 AAAS Fellow and Camille and Henry Dreyfus Foundation Fellow.

Received NSF funding for new Supercomputer


Dr. Kathy Winnett-Murray, professor of biology, receives the "Janet L. Andersen Excellence in Teaching Award" at the annual faculty recognition luncheon on January 9th, 2006

Dr. Paul DeYoung was named the Kenneth G. Herrick Professor of Physics

Dr. Sue Dunn, Associate Professor, completed her Ph.D. in Nursing at MSU and received the Gilbert and Leona Schuman Scholarship MSU

Dr. Graham Peaslee, Associate Professor of Geological & Environmental Sciences and Chemistry, was given the 2005 Macatawa Watershed Stakeholder of the Year Award

Drs. Mark Pearson & Airat Bekmetjev, Assistant Professors of Mathematics, were named 2004 Project NExT Fellows

Dr. Hilary MacKay, visiting Postdoctorate of Chemistry, completed her Ph.D. in BioChemistry at the University of Bradford
