Who to Go to...

Congratulations to Karen and Mark on their wedding. Please join me in welcoming Dr. Karen Nordell Pearson to Hope College for the 06-07 academic year.

Dr. Nordell Pearson is Associate Professor of Chemistry at Lawrence University, WI, and she is spending her sabbatical year with us. She has interest in many areas of research, and they range from inorganic chemistry, nanoscience, interdisciplinary environmental science, to chemical education involving international partnerships. Since joining Lawrence University she has worked with more than 30 students, published nine papers in refereed journals, and has received hundreds of thousand of dollars in external grants. Dr. Nordell Pearson is also a highly accomplished teacher, and for that she received the 2004 Lawrence Outstanding Young Teacher Award.

During her visit to Hope, Dr. Nordell Pearson will serve as Director for the PEW Consortium, and she also has an opportunity to pursue her scholarship. Her office is located in A Paul Schaap SC 3112. When you are in the neighborhood, please stop by and introduce yourself.

Respectfully,
Moses Lee
Dean
