Are you curious about what research is happening at the forefront of your discipline? Are you interested in new instrumentation and techniques that aid discoveries in your field? Are you looking to reenergize the work you do with students by adding some contact or experiments from recent research?

If so…then Hope's High School Student Summer Research Program may be perfect for you!

Hope's summer research program for high school science and math teachers provides opportunities to do a research project with one of Hope's natural or applied science faculty. Teachers can earn two tuition-free graduate credits and a $2500 stipend for participating in the 5-week program.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Do I need prior research experience?

No! There is no expectation that you've had previous research experience. We encourage you to participate in a research project that interests you even if you've not worked in that area before.

  • Do I get to choose the research project on which I'll be working?
We will provide teacher applicants with a list of potential projects, and we encourage you to indicate your preferences for any of the projects. If you don't see a project that interests you, contact Director Karen Nordell Pearson to discuss options.
